Carol shares how three simple practices she learned from Happier Now are helping her feel more present and learn to embrace her feelings, including the difficult ones:"I loved the exercises in
Happier Now and now I’m including them in my daily life. Here are a few that have been really helpful for me:
Focusing on the everyday moments.
I’m the type of person that’s rushes around at 100mph moving from one thing to the next and not really focusing on particular moments. I’m trying to slow down and live each moment fully rather than living a moment and thinking about another while I do it and
it’s really helping me to be present in each moment and enjoy them fully.
I find it easier to look after myself out of work but sometimes during work time it’s difficult so
I’ve started taking a 10 minute lunch break where I go for a walk or just stop and take a break, watch the birds or appreciate the flowers or have a meaningful conversation with someone in the street.
I’ve lived a lot of my life thinking it’s wrong to not be OK. Through
Happier Now I’ve learned how to embrace how I feel, don’t ignore it, don’t hide it, but embrace it and accept it. I’ve realized life isn’t always perfect and it’s OK to be sad, angry, hurt etc., and that
by accepting and embracing these feelings we can deal with them better and learn from them.
Keep up the good work. You are awesome."
